Something tells me he thinks all TBers do this crap all the time. Shame on us, for all we know, he could have gone on to be a supporting member, and learn everything there is to learn on talkbass, work his way to becoming the next big bassist. Victor Wooten would want his autograph, but, since we scared him off, he'll go to tabcrawler where he will go on to join "KarRoT" a tribute band to Korn. Shame on us.

Ok I know the thread is pretty much dead but can I just say, what a crack up!!! You guys are so funny! White Stripes. What a shame. And they are in desperate need of a band stylist. Sorry, I'm a girl and a stylist. We notice those kinds of things. Its a cryin shame. :bawl:

First, i'd like to say that The White Stripes are an amazing band. An amazing 2 person-band, meaning they have no bassist. Do they really need a bassist? I see all these articles about how bassists hate White Stripes..why? because it shows that a great band does'nt have to have a bassist, it would sound more decent to us bassists but to their style of playing it's fine how it is..so my point is who hear agrees that they sound fine without a bassist, and who doesnt? by the way their piano melodies make up for the bass (rythm) in the band. :bassist:

I don't think a bassist hates them just because they don't have a bassist, they probably hate them because they don't like their music. I like several bands such as The doors, yeah yeah yeahs, ect. which don't have bass players, and i'm a bass guitar freak.

Do they really need a bassist?? Of course not obviously. I havn't heard much from the band, but what i have heard sounded very flat. I think a bass player would benefit that particular band based on what i have heard.

Oh don't get me wrong, I feel a 2 piece band is an OK idea. I saw "The Black Keys" ? On Conan. They were pretty good for what they were.

The white stripes bug me mainly due to Megs horrible drumming and Jack's horrible voice. SO that means the only thing I... kinda... like is his guitar playing. He's a pretty good rhythm guitarist... leads kinda suck... but hey, look at Pete Townsend... and he isn't that great a singer either. ;)

If the White Stripes hired a bassist... I still wouldn't listen to them.
