The Zoom B3 effects demonstration thread.

The current keeper of the Fender Rumble club, Linin asked about how to use the Zoom B3 tuner function. He appeared unaware that it could be used in bypass mode. I figured I would knock out a quick and dirty video of how to do it, and the inspiration for this thread was born.

If you have any particular insight on the special incantations it takes to get the best out of the Zoom B3, shoot a quick video of it and post it up here with a description of what it is, and how you got it...

So for those wanting to use the tuner. With all effects off, and the B3 powered on, push and hold the (2) button for 1-2 seconds. This will turn the tuner on, but not yet engage the full bypass function.

If you want to use the tuner in full bypass mode, hold the (2) button longer. I typically go between 7 and 10 seconds for good measure...



So who's next? What special recipes have you mixed up for this great effects box?

Holding that knob for 10 seconds until tune-with-bypass is a bit much, no? Even 2 for regular tuning would freak me out a little. And no super clear visual feedback?

I'll bring my old Korg DT10. On stage cable goes into the bypass-plug and not ever will the audience by accident hear me tune.

Otherwise the B3 looks pretty good, looking forward to more reviews.

FWIW, I have a Snark SN-10S that is one kick, full bypass. I don't quite understand why the Zoom doesn't bypass by default in tuner mode.

This is my 2nd multi effect pedal, and both of them required a long hold to engage the tuner / bypass mode. I am figuring it is the nature of the beast.
