Things i need to know about Active Basses

What are some common problems and misconceptions about active basses? I just picked up a Peavey Fury 5 with active pickups for a sweet price! Also can my hartke 2500 head and 1x15 cab handle the Active eq and b string?

Be sure not to leave your cable in the bass for long periods of time whille you are not playing it since this is still draining the battery.
