About 50 years ago, my older brother brought home an 8 function (I think) calculator that belonged to the high school. It had been entrusted to him for the night. I remember marveling at this electronic wonder! I was not allowed to touch it as we couldn't afford to replace it (jerk...) It was something like this.

My first calculator did not even have a floating decimal point. You had to do that yourself.

My calculator from there 80s. Still powers on. I asked the store clerk how long the solar power would last. He guesstimated 7 years. Maybe I didn't use it enough

The clerk told me never to bend the fold backward. I've followed those instructions. They work.
