Things You Should NOT Do When You're Angry

Could be that too.

Or maybe the "Where do you see us in future?" one....

“A while ago my husband and I were driving to a 99-cent store to buy some party supplies. I mentioned, “You know, a lot of these so-called 99-cent stores charge more than 99 cents for many of the items they sell.”

“Not possible,” he said. “All 99-cent stores sell everything at that price. That’s why they’re called 99-cent stores.”

“That’s not true. You don’t know because you haven’t been to one. The 99-cent thing is just a way to get more people into the store,” I explained.
“Why would they call it a 99-cent store if it’s not one?” he shot back, still trying to convince me.

“Wait a minute,” I blurted out. “This is a dumb argument about a fact. Why don’t we just hold on for 10 minutes, get to the store, and we’ll have our answer?” He agreed, so we shut our mouths and found the answer in the store. (I was right!)” – Laura Puhn

She clearly doesnt shop at the 99Cent Only Store where things are, in fact, only 99.99¢

Amen.

I had a bad Motorola phone that crashed every 2 days, so one of those days I got angry and tried to break the thing in half (it was a flip phone); one hour later I was in ER getting a couple stitches in my right hand thumb.

:hiding:

I've been tempted to throw a laptop towards some rocks and crack it open... it was a POS Hewlett Packard laptop that crashed and turned off whenever it pleased. They are truly garbage these days.

@Matticus: RE: "Punch Walls!"

+1

One seriously messed up knuckle later...

I havent played in a while, but for years we had a weekly Dodgeball game going on at the local Middle School.
This one time we had a new player show up, as it often occured, and he was real competitive.
The series was tied at 2 games each, in a best out of 5 situation.
Players are down on both sides, I think it was myself and one other possibly two, on our team and two players on their team.
I wind up and hit one guy in the shoulder but the ball bounces upward and in the direction of the second player.
We're all thinking that guy is going to make the catch and save his teammate from getting out. Im not sure how, but he misjudged the catch and the ball slipped right through his fingers, but not before touching it first, scoring us the double out and winning the game.
Man, he was so pissed! He turns and punches the back wall and breaks his hand! Ouch! He had to go to the hospital after that one.

I've broken both the pinkie and ring-finger metacarpals in my right hand. First time was the pinkie, then a few years later I broke the other. Didn't go to the doctor either time. What could he do? Put a cast over my entire hand? Then I wouldn't have been able to work with my hand all covered up. It's really not that hard to tough it out for a few weeks.

Funny thing is, both times were because of the same girlfriend pissing me off so bad I wanted to punch her in the face, but changed trajectory and punched something else instead.

One time she broke her hand punching me in the head. Her bone breaking absorbed most of the shock and I wasn't even hurt. How's that for poetic justice?

I also find myself walking a thin line between poetic justice and and self-inflicted rage fits.

Yeah, last time she wanted to escalate things by breaking stuff in my kitchen, I broke up with her instead of breaking my hands or anything else. I haven't had a fit of rage since. It's nice to not feel that much anger.

Sometimes I think love and hate are the same thing.

Never discipline your children when you're angry. Never.

Wait until you've cooled off, you can think more clearly...and you're completely in control of yourself. :eyebrow:

I agree 100% !!!!

I always act upset when they are doing something that deserves punishment - even if it is pretty funny or actually pretty cool. But the punishment always comes from their actions, NEVER an anger response over what they have done. Always calmly and with disappointment so they feel bad about letting me down.

Punch Walls

I'll second this! About ten years ago, after an argument with a (expletive) of an ex, I hauled off... And broke a bone in my wrist. To this day it hurts when I golf.

I always thought HP and POS were synonymous. I know in my experience they are.

You know, it's pretty annoying how women in relationships are portrayed in media and thought of, and how many people share the same generic notions about us.

Yeah, I've seen relationships exactly like that, and I've seen women who abuse their men, too, but this portrayal that we're a lead weight keeping our significant other from doing what they want isn't a fair image. If at any point in a relationship either my spouse or I start to feel like that, it's time to call it a day.

Not all women want to sit around watching soap operas and talking about cushions. I share the same tastes in TV and music as my SO, and we don't argue about petty things like that. I couldn't possibly care less about home decorating. I'm just surprised, because it's not the first time I've heard it, that two people who are that dissimilar could settle into a long-term relationship with one another.

*derail ended*

You know that agitating coworker who gets under your skin? You should never deal with that person when you're angry.
