I had a TF420 that I ran thru an Avatar 2x10 and it was pure heaven. I had to sell it, and I really really regret it! Like Rickno7 said, you can get a ton of great tones with the turn of one knob.
I'm in the market for a used 420 or a 550 if anyone is thinking of letting one go.

Love mine with my Bergie mini stack! Just did an outdoor gig with my classic rock cover band. We are LOUD, and I was TOO LOUD! Loud, clean, punchy and warm that is! I actually had to turn down. My band mates are still in awe that I get that big of a sound out such a small rig.

+1 I agree. Bought a LM II this summer. Nice compact light head but also felt it could not compare to my Thundefunk 550B. My simple opinion, others very into the LMII and the price is amazing for what it does and the size.
Specifically the used TFB420 that ii-v has for sale in the classifieds. I'm trying to get the scratch together to buy it. My main gig is equal parts Meters, Hendrix and Dead - a funk/blues jam band in other words - and my main axe is a G&L L2500. The head will be pushing a custom LDS cabinet with 1-12 (B&C NEO), 1-8, and 1-5.25 that is 500 watts at 8 ohms. I've read about the great pairing of Tfunk w/ accugroove cabs and my LDS was designed to be similar to the Tri-112 only with a little more mid-range grunt and less high-end sheen, so I think it will be a nice sounding rig.
I'm curious as to everyone's opinion on such. Also, any negative issues anyone has with the Tfunk, as all I read are positives
No negative issues with mine, had it for years, no surprises. Highly recommended.
That's what directly replaced my TFB420. Still, I'm in no hurry to let it go. It's still a great amp and prior to my LMII I prefered it over anything else I'd tried... and I tried pretty much everything. It just plain worked. No drama, rock solid, I knew that from gig to gig I could alway do two things very easily...
1. Set up quickly and
2. Have great sound.
I love keeping it simple.
more TFB love. I was never happy with my amplification, going back some 30 years. That all changed when I got my TFB, almost 5 years ago now. I've used it on hundreds of gigs since, and it always delivers. I literally don't think about amps anymore; the problem is solved.
