My current amp is a Genz Benz ML200, and I built an extension cab for it with a 12 inch carvin speaker. The amp sounds decent, but it's really not the tone for me. I am looking to upgrade to a 300-400 watt head and a 210 cab. My buddy is selling a GK 700RB-II for 400 bucks, and im thinking about picking it up. If i did so, does anyone have any cabs that stick out in their minds as being a good match for the GK head? I'm looking for spend 200-300 dollars on the cab. Does anyone have much experience with the Carvin redeye series of cabs? I have about 650-700 to spend total, possibly a little more. I am looking for a pretty clean tone with low lows, and punchy mids. Thanks, any input would be appreciated!
I'm not so keen on the Carvin RedLine cabs, but I like their BRX gear. If you don't mind a combo, you could probably do a lot worse than this, which is 500 W into two 12s (plus a separate 50 W amp for the high highs): http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=BRX212&CID=BRX
