This two pickup layout (or more . . . . ) with the middle or neck pickup slanted was a thing with the Japanese in the 80's/90's. Early Ibanez SR's with two Jazz-pattern pickups were like this, others as well.

I'm less focused on the pickup arrangement and more on the fact that apparently Fender made this?? I suppose it's a reminder that Fender does occasionally do something interesting.
