Going out on a limb here to suggest anyone looking for medical advice on a bass player's forum deserves what they get.

Also going out on a limb to suggest that some of the best information (notice I did not say advice) anywhere on the internet about all manner of things can be found on this forum. The question is whether the reader has the ability to distinguish between fact and fiction.

Yes, I'm quite familiar with those threads. I just happen to be a med school anatomy prof and have a pretty good handle on physical medicine. I won't comment in those threads because nobody, no matter how much they think they know, should ever try to make a diagnosis without examining the patient and taking a thorough history. Some of the advice I see given could make the person's situation worse.

That's like receiving a salisbury steak advertised and priced as filet mignon.
