I just made a fool of myself in the double bass section.I actually posted an Iron Maiden appreciation thread there.

Now I see DB means double bass.

That means :meh: BG means bass guitar.

    Duh....Eureka.

On behalf of talkbass I'd like to say, I'm so sorry. What did those poor vultures do to you!

Though I would like to hear some Steve Harris basslines on an upright. A jazz tribute to Maiden would be kick ass.

Yep - I saw the thread! I opened it up eagerly looking for news of Bruce Dickinson's forthcoming jazz quartet where he holds down the bottom line with some tasty upright playing.

Move on, contribute and learn, and I'm sure that little faux pas will be forgiven!

Most are Jazz guys I think.... They're a pretty cool lot once you pass the hazing :eyebrow:

Now... welcome to TB and all that.

    BUT

What does Bruce Dickinson have to do with Bass?

heh...they were just razzing you. At least now you know.

As for Jazz+Maiden not being possible, I'll have to disagree.

I've personally played "The Trooper" on my 3/4 upright. It was a lot of fun. :hyper:

And, if Alex Skolnik can do a tango version of a Scorpions tune, anything is possible....

Which tune? Also most Scorpions basslines are child's play.

God, this is killin me. hahaha.

They are pretty protective of their territory over on that side of the board. The threads where they make fun of dumb threads here are really funny, though.

    :D
