This threads focus on Lollar and Lindy Fralin Jazz pickups difference

Question for experienced users:
1) what make you decides to go for the Fralins over the Lollars, or vice versa?
2) what kind of music do you play with the Fralin/Lollars pickups?
3) what preamps do you use? Both onboard and outboard applicable.

From by searching, I found that Audere z preamp works well with Fralin and Sadowsky preamp works well with Lollar.

There have already been discussion about these two makers, but I thought it would be nice to have a user sharing and continuous discussion.

I'm also curious about this pair for a passive 4-string Jazz. I listened to the video above a few times. The Fralins sound like they have a bit of air in the tone, very natural. The Lollar's are similar but seem to have a bit more fullness and presence. No way to tell how either are in a mix.
