I raised my action a tiny bit to compensate for the tension and I very slightly changed my touch. Even before the adjustments I was surprised at how even they felt across the board.

See if you can record yourself playing with them in a band setting, that was the thing that convinced me :)

The TI Jazz Rounds have been on my Jazz Bass for a few days !
And I am amazed how great they sound and feel I don’t have any issues with the tension !

I put TI flats on a passive jazz bass, took about a week to break-in and I'm still getting used to the lower tension. I usually play nickel rounds and very heavy handed.

I do really like them! I was turned off by the price, but everyone raves about them and it's been a fun experiment. I love the feel on the fretting hand and moving around the neck.

Might also be worth raising the action a little. I've found it's nice to dig in a tiny bit to get the sound that I want out of them. Not to the extend that you get a rasp-y or 'splat' sound but just enough to give it the note a good attack. I need a slightly higher than usual action to give myself room to do that with these.

I just ordered and installed a set of TI JF344's on my Fender American J Bass and am blown away by these strings. As was mentioned by the OP, I was frankly concerned about the tension of the set (have been playing 45 to 105's for years) with the effect on tone. However, I no longer have concern but am amazed by their sound. I have coaxed every style of music I play out of these strings using everything from totally clean sound to heavy overdrive and light distortion. These strings just sing. It's pretty amazing really. I hear people say they take some time to break in, and mine clearly are not there yet- so if what I hear now will actually improve, then I'm ecstatic. Still like my rounds, recently having moved to Ken Smith Rock Masters, but these TI's may just change my approach to stringing all my basses differently.

Call me a new believer!

I love the Jazz Flats on my G&L L1000. I also have the Power Bass strings on my L2000 and am awaiting delivery of a set of Jazz Flats for my new SBMM Short Scale. Words cannot express how satisfied I am with my instruments strung with Thomastik Infeld strings.

Then WHY is the A string's tension SO LOW as compared to the other strings in the flat wound JF344 set, for example? And, therefore, IME makes this set not usable? What am I missing? I have a set on a 4000/4001 1971 RIC.

These just arrived today. They're going on my new SBMM Short Scale. I have Jazz Flats on my G&L L1000 and Power Bass on my L2000. Yeah, I'm a fan.

Does anybody still check out this "club?" I hope so, because I've noticed that there are two types of packaging pictured for the TI jazz flats. One shows an extreme closeup of a sunburst jazz bass, the other is the yellow packaging. These places show the yellow packaging: Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, Guitar Center, zZounds, Best Bass Gear, Just Strings, Strings & Beyond, etc. The places showing the sunburst jazz bass packaging are mostly individual or small business sellers on Reverb, Ebay, and Amazon. One of the places on Amazon lists them as an accordion accessory. They blame the title on some glitch by Amazon, but they list the same way on Ebay. Same glitch?? Can anybody tell me what's up with the TI packaging. I'd love to order a set, but I'm also aware that string counterfeiting is big business in some countries. If I'm paying $70 or more for 4 strings, I want the real deal.
