Thoughts on the Elf

Typically my Elf is just a backup in case of some catastrophe, but I'm actually looking forward to the day when I have to really drive my band nuts by putting an elf on my biggest cabinet.
Someone commented that an elf on a 410 looked ridiculous... a little ridiculousness is what this world really needs. I'm thinking an elf on a stack of fake cabinets would get some attention.

Actually, what it means is that, for me (the basses I use/playing technique/musical style), it was a great purchase. It meets my needs both rehearsing and gigging, and doesn't break my back. I love being able to walk into a gig with my bass in one hand, and my amp in the other. I highly recommend those looking for a small, portable rig try it out and see if it works for them. I was also able to get the head, 1x10" cabinet and a 3' 1/4"-to-Speakon cable for less than $570 delivered to my door; 3 year financing with no interest to boot. Like I said - great purchase for me...YMMV

I take all of the above. I have played through an Elf head only once and was into a 4x10. Knock it until you've tried it.
Another happy ELF owner here. I use it for gigs for which I travel by public transportation...and as a back up amp...

You know that's Arthur from Trace Elliot accounts dept, right?
If it's the right speaker you can put more than 300 watts into a 10. These Acoustic Image amps put 400w into a single 10. The speaker and cabinet combination is pretty inefficient, so the high power is required. BTW, the 10 is on the bottom shooting downwards. Total size is 12” H x 15” W x 13” D and it weighs 20 pounds.
They used to make an extension cab with two 10s, one shoots downward and the other shoots forward. I own one and when stacked with the combo, the whole rig only 29" tall and handles 900 watts.
fwiw, the form factor was the deciding trait for me with the elf. it's a backup for my 1001rb. Plus it can run my 810.
I love at the end in the park when everyone starts to sing and Santa's sleigh can fly on Christmas magic.

I played the Elf (head and cab) in the shop when I was amp shopping two years ago and thought it was cool. I was looking for something with more power (ended up getting a Subway D800), but really that was more a case of want than need and the Elf head with a larger cab seems like a good option. And it certainly seems like a good backup amp in a lot of situations given how tiny it is.
What sort of gigs are you playing? Most everything i do is bar/restaurant gigs. Usually no PA, or its needed for vocals and acoustic.
I have a Genzler MG350 112 combo that can handle most anything, but the 17lb weight of that 110 is intriguing. Always trying to go lighter.
The Genzler has a Faital and is super efficient, one reason it can handle no FOH gigs.
I think the Deltalite in the ELF is just as efficient, but not sure it's enough still.
I play with a loudish rock/country band and starting a Hendrix tribute (I have a 210 when I need it too).

I've used my Elf head for rehearsals and small gigs on a 2x10 cab. I love that I can just stick it in my gig bag or the box I carry my cables and pedals in. Did I need it? No. Is it my primary? No. But it does exactly what I expected it to do, my drummer has no complaints because I generate enough punch with the Elf and playing through a head that small never gets old.
I saw a TE 2x8 cab floor model for $299 at the Fountain Valley, CA GC last week.
