Thoughts on the recent Squier Telecaster Bass ?

just played one this week at gc and it may have been my fav bass i played even compared to USA fenders. The pickup sounds really good and the neck has a nice feel to it

The last iteration they did of this bass was slab. The newer model is better in just about every way.

I got one on Tuesday. Love it! Huge sound. Really dark sounding bass. Bass looks and feels expensive! I want another one so I can experiment with different strings.

I have one and put Fender flats on it. It is a bit on the boomy side and I'm still adjusting to playing technique to get a good sound. I like that it has adjustable pole pieces that let you tune the string volumes a little bit. The feel, fit and finish are all nice. No complaints except there is one very small defect on the pickguard cut (small oopsie).

I wouldn't get too hung up about pickups, there's few wrongs can't be righted by strings or a graphic EQ.

Given the price of strings I'd go with the graphic EQ first

Not really. Without the strap and when you put it on your lap...a little? But for me really neck dive doesn't bother me.

I’ve always loved my VMTB from the original Squier run. It doesn’t have a huge variety of tones, but what it does, it does very well.
