Thread of movie quotes only...?

OK, this easily could be an epic fail... I'm just putting that out there first, just in case.

BUT ANYWAY

I had an idea for a thread. Your post has to be a quote from a movie. (You should say the character/scene/movie/etc if it isn't obvious...) And your post should be in response to the post above you or at least somehow related to it... But that's more of a suggestion than a rule. I feel like if this even works, it's going to be anarchy. Anything goes, as long as its from a movie.

Example of how I might start the thread: (Ray Liotta in Goodfellas) "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster."

Two sample responses...
A funny response might be... (Gone with the Wind) "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Or you could go with the non-sequitor style... “They’ve done studies, you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works every time.” — Anchorman

Etc.... The goal is to make a long running conversation, and the posts should be in response to the previous quote. Questions get answers, not necessarily ones that make sense. Got it?

OK. I'll start!

"How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if they can't even fit inside the building?"

-Derek Zoolander.

'When lenity and cruelty play for a kingdom, the gentler gamester is the soonest winner'.

William Shakespeare, Henry V.

Henry (Kenneth Branagh) has just given authority for one of his old friends (Lieutenant Bardolph) to be hung for stealing from a French church during the crusade of the Battle of Agincourt.

Flashback to sometime before in a hostelry, much drinking and merriment between this group of 'good time' friends, Bardolph states in jest to a young Prince Henry, 'Do not thou, when thou art king, hang a thief'.

Prince Henry after realised consideration answers, 'No, thou shalt'.

Lest it see more, prevent it. Out, vile jelly!
Where is thy lustre now?

Cornwall, upon shucking out Gloucester's eyes.
A personal favorite.

V for Vendetta -

Evey Hammond: My father was a writer. You would've liked him. He used to say that artists use lies to tell the truth, while politicians use them to cover the truth up.

V: A man after my own heart.

Trainspotting -

Renton: One final hit to get us over this long, hard day.

One of my fav's from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly -

Tuco: When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk.

Voil! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

^ Continued ; ) -

Evey Hammond: Are you like a crazy person?

V: I am quite sure they will say so. But to whom, might I ask, am I speaking with?

Evey Hammond: I'm Evey.
V: Evey? E-V. Of course you are.

Evey Hammond: What does that mean?

V: It means that I, like God, do not play with dice and I don't believe in coincidences.

Lot's of my favorites in that film.

The Outlaw Josey Wales -

Josey Wales: When I get to likin' someone, they ain't around long.

Lone Watie: I notice when you get to DISlikin' someone they ain't around for long neither.

One Who Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest -

McMurphy: [about shock treatments] They was giving me ten thousand watts a day, you know, and I'm hot to trot! The next woman takes me on's gonna light up like a pinball machine and pay off in silver dollars!

The Shining -

Lloyd: What'll it be, Sir?

Jack: Hair of the dog that bit me.
