Thumb pop?

Has anyone heard if this technique I found it in this book.

I've never heard it referred to as such, but it reminds me of the upstroke in double thumb.

Can you make a picture of a groove or exercise or patterns in the book that uses this technique? Looks like double thumb but might be something else, but we need context. What book is that?

Never heard of it. Doesn't look very usefull to me unless it's part of double thumb technique. Thinner strings don't need much strength to pop, they snap best with just the tip of index finger. And thumb is pretty slow to travel across the strings (at least mine is), that's where traditional thumb-index slap-pop thing shines.
Could be wrong, looking forward to getting more info on this.

Victors double thump is great, but it's technique of up and down thumb stroke. This page shows only upstroke. If it's part of learning process for double thump, cool.
BTW try playing disco 1-8, 1-8 with double thump. Much easier with classic slap-pop (thumb-index). I guess it all depends what you're playing.

That is why we need to see the context of this technique. The patterns and grooves in which it is applied. Otherwise it's pure speculation.
