There are some 3d print sites that will print designs + ship for you as well.

I remember seeing someone here just using a square, rubber, stick-on foot for a table leg.

A pack of 25 of these .78"x.78"x.38" square feet are $11 at Walmart.

Doesn't get much cheaper than that and does the same job.

I found a guy on eBay who makes them with a 3D printer.

Double stick 3M tape works like a charm for over 9 months.

Heat gun for removal.

No screws.

The best thumbrest is the string above the one you’re plucking, or the pickup, if conveniently placed. Both no-mod options.

Yep. I don't float tho... really rest my thumb on the B string and just automatically lift it when I need to.

I wouldn't see the point in a thumb rest on a 5er... at least my B is always muted.

Both the double sided tape and the mini thumbrest on EBay work great for me. The attached photo is the mini attached with a slightly longer screw (included) through the pickguard. View attachment 5097704

You can also forget about a bought style rests that may or may not have a solid bottom. You can just cut your own out of some 1/4" material or just use an object of some sort that you can find around the house I am sure and use double sticky tape to attach it. I find the sold rests too bulky. This heatsink could make a nice conversation piece reast

Hey there, I've just acquired a new Jazz Bass which came without a thumb rest or the holes for same and I don't want to make any. I've seen the Zero Mod version and don't fancy that. I remember seeing another which works on the same principle but can't find it anywhere now. It just had two circular end pieces at either end of a curved bar which fits the existing pick guard holes in the top edge. Any ideas?

My thumb on the middle pickup works for me.
