There is another posting he describes it as following:

"Set up for heavy gauge strings (50-115), pickups swapped for American P-Bass pickups. all work done by Rainbow Guitars. these mods have made this the heaviest sounding bass ive ever played. tone is very piano-like, punchy and bright."

Yeah - there is going to be a HUGE difference between the 2 pairs of strings. I can't imagine how it could be useful.

From that pic, it looks like the mod is a hack job.

It might look better in person... I would buy it for around $700 if I was confident that I could clean it up or convert it back.

If you buy it, post some nicer pics so we can better look at it.

I'd almost be interested, if the EA coil was in the bridge position, and the DG in the neck position.......

I would reverse them.I would put the pup for the E & A string towards the bridge.Vice-versa for the D & G string.

Also,looks like no additional routing has been done (a good thing).Looks like they were fitted into the original H/bucker routes.
