Thunderbird advice needed

I agree with Mark! Get the classic pro!
Go with the Classic Pro it definately has the Thunderbird tone, U.S. Gibson pickups, 7ply mahogany neck and a slightly altered shape for better upper register access. The neck dive comment is pretty much spot on for the TB illiterati...... I think there's a running joke about every TBird thread having that comment in there.
Seriously that Classic is one of the best basses in the market at that price, go for it!

I had the same choice to make about a year ago. I ended up getting the Classic Pro IV in alpine white - beautiful bass! It's undoubtedly worth the extra money over the pro IV - the USA Gibson TB plus pickups on it are brilliant and surprisingly versatile, you can get much more out of the bass than just the "muddy" sound. I know people hear Thunderbird and whinge about neck dive, even if they haven't owned one, but I have minimal to no neck dive on mine. Oh btw, my classic pro iv was made in indonesia
