Of a Thunderbird.
All that copper tubing in the woods is the antenna for AT&T fiber optic cable.

Oh, that's going to be so good!Yup, We have tix for the Mule in Vancouver Feb 8. Going with my band!
I've heard and have some ceramic pickups that are nice and warm and Alnico that were thin and unpleasant. I'm not saying it makes no difference, but the type of magnet isn't the only thing, or maybe even most important thing going on. One part, for sure. Most of my favs happen to be Alnico, but there are ceramics that do sound great. (And a bunch that don't as well.)I agree - and I reckon (tho I've no proof) that, if they felt so inclined, some clever types could probably make a pickup with either magnet material so that I couldn't hear the difference!! Can't say if it would be a pickup I'd opt for on my instruments, but who knows?
You church people have more going on than I thought.
It all makes sense! Now you understand why I use a Thunderbird at church.
Nice! I put the locking studs from Philly Luthiers on my Casady. They use an allen key from the top for the height adjustment, but I haven't figured out how to lock it without lowering it.
That was an interesting read, thanks for linking it up.No Thunderbird content, but an interesting interview with a heck of a bass player. Things got stressed between Bruce and Elvis not too long after this, unfortunately. But thanks for all the great music, Bruce.
1987 Bruce Thomas Interview - Elvis Costello Fan Forum
I read this interview while listening to a Troy Hughes' bass cover of "Peace, Love and Understanding" for at least the 100th time in a row in two days. I'm burning it into my soul before I attempt to learn to play it. I know I picked a good one because I'm not even close to tired of listening.
Y'all know that scene where Sam Wilson says (referring to Steve Rogers), "I do what he does, only slower"? That's loosely me talking about Bruce Thomas. We have the same interest and approaches to things - he's just way better. 8^) [Not referenced in the interview: he's also a bicyclist and author.]
I've not got my hands on any of those yet but I was under the impression that you screw the top part down using that big slot - maybe needs doing with the whole bolt screwed into the body so there's something to stop things turning? Then raise the thing with the Allen bolt?
Lead solder might explain some things.A still picture.

Interesting idea for the ‘13. Is yours burst or Pelham Blue?I think he could measure anything I ask (that's nondestructive) but I didn't know to ask about inductance/capacitance - I'll be speaking to him soon as he's making a pair of pups like the "new" NR set (on my IG NR) in black epoxy molds for my '13 NR (it's originally all black hardware with black pups). For all I know that may be something he could extrapolate or he may need to have the things in front of him. I'll find out.
can’t beat them for the pice…..clearly not NOS stuff but EH runs a pretty tight QA program, definitely good quality and a tight vacuum…… not mine (GE NOS kinda guy) but an excellent performer, I think you’d approve..I'm in the shadow of the Legend in Dave's Mind!
How do you like those, Chuck?
02/08 Ventura Theater.I wouldn’t mind going to that concert, when and where?
I never really followed the feud. But it coincided with Declan expanding into other genres. No Thunderbird content, but an interesting interview with a heck of a bass player. Recording or it didn’t happen. He's a JKD (Jeet Kun Do) guy as well. I think he wrote a book about Bruce Lee.
Also one of my favorite bass players to listen to... We're doing "What's so Funny..." too. I'm singing it too, which has, so far, been hilarious...
