Happy Birthday to me - the Walkabout seems to be a good match for the Epifani T212. Plenty of bottom end and volume for in home use (probably enough for small to medium gigs as well if needed).

The goal was to get a nice sounding rig for under $1000 (total head and cab). Mission accomplished.
Now back to bass acquisitions - a nice fretless might be in order.

That HS style never bothered me

I haven't been bothered by any G&L headstock styles. But I can understand why some do not care for the looks of them.

Happy Holidays to all my Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I hope you all are enjoying a relaxing weekend with friends and family. I am enjoying a little much needed time off. First gig as a new version of an existing band. The members of the eastern fusion band have tried our hand at rock and blues and a bit of classical under the new name Cat Herd. Played our first show last night at a small club downtown. First set included Stones, Simon, The Band, and Bach. Second set returned as Safar and featured a lovely and talented belly dancer. Returned as Cat Herd for a third set that included Hendrix, Clash, and a closing mash up of Trust in me (from the Jungle Book) into Black Magic Woman. Used my Jazz 5 for part of it as I used the low D as a base for solos by electric viola and Eastern flute. Great fun and good crowd. Have a great evening everyone.

Sounds fun. Trust in Me/Black Magic Woman-Interesting. I can hear that in my head.
On another note, I dated a belly dancer in the early 80s. Very interesting.(I better leave it at that.)

Just got back from another church gig, the Christmas night's mass (or something like that). I brought in some power since I had to compete with the pipe organ. The Lab Series started to get a bit crackly at yesterdays rehearsal so I brought the Hiwatt for the gig and it worked beautifully (no surprise). I need to use it more again as all my Lab heads need a bit of service at the moment.

Just before the show with the percussionist. I'm trying to look philosophical. Us and the guitarist were the "pagan" section but luckily we got away with it (joking of course, never felt any pressure in that department when playing in church).
