Philip Morris (originally a London company), had a large plant here that made Marlboro and Virginia Slims and a few others at times. Closed down production here as manufacturing companies were taxed to death (by the short-sighted city, mostly), and moved to more business friendly areas like a number of other manufactures. Often offices remained a number of years after production facilities were closed.Another old Bon Scott photo. I stumbled across this and thought you lot might like it.
I’m guessing about 1976. Location was a free concert (radio 2SM sponsored) that I was at in Victoria Park at Sydney’s Broadway.
Look at the WHS issues!
Bon is on top of an old fashioned speaker box, complete with cigarette sponsorship! The speaker box is on top of another box - possibly made from an old tea chest that was in the First Fleet!
(It’s old!)
PBR don’t knock it.So, a little different from Papst?

The bass is also already in Canada...How can I assist (translated into TB talk: enable)?
It needs rescuing.
Needs someone with your skills.
Needs a good home after restoration.
Needs a great player after restoration.
It would love the scenery in CA.
They like to ride in Karman Ghias. (Silver the best from what I hear.)
Others can feel free to "assist."
Yikes!!!Interesting flight path tonight. Gee, where have I heard of a couple of those cities recently...probably why Marshall didn't want to take me up on the Middle East offer.

A most valiant and reasonable attempt at avoidance! The bass is also already in Canada...
But it was his Dad's bass. It would be cool if the guy found a luthier to take it on.
It would be an expensive restoration. Might be worth it for sentimental reasons.
Be safe Dave. I’ve got to admit I’m a bit concerned.Currently over Canuckland and heading your way.

I mostly drink fake beer these days. I have become a coward and a slacker.I've been drinking Guinness lately.
Because it’s an awesome song.
And well, Nikki.

All very true and I completely agree. Sadly those situations often seem to not get finished, especially if (the son in this case), just isn't seriously into playing. Something like that takes a lot of desire, perseverance and/or money. It would be nice if he does restore it. Certainly the ideal situation.
Same here. Guinness and Grolsch Zero versions!I mostly drink fake beer these days. I have become a coward and a slacker.
Add a wig for extra credit....Anybody who can play a Thunderbird in heels and a dress has to be pretty great.
