The national mood is really different from how it was in 1976. There was red, white, and blue everything back then.

I haven't seen anything like any of this lately. Gibson sure won't be picking up on it if it isn't happening.

The Santa Fe did several SD45-2s in that paint scheme, they were used on LA-Chicago piggyback train\ called the "Super C" that were overpowered deliberately to keep a very fast schedule (faster than their passenger trains) 79mph. A lot of other railroads painted locos for 1976 as well.

It would be a fun/ironic project to build a copy of an SB-5A/7A based on pictures....

There's a current tb thread I just saw where someone covered all the different versions it came as; one pu, two pu's, angled pu's, and different nknob positioning. Same body/hs though... I nearly bought one when the RI was selling for around $600 - now they are double that. Oh well, like I need another bass...

The newer ones don't have Epiphone on the bottom.

Thanks Donny! That one (Boys of Sumner) is in A Phrygian (an A scale with the notes from Fmaj). It took me a while to get my brain and fingers to improvise. It's good to play with people that push me beyond my usual habits.
