Thunderbird goth bass case

Hey guys, I have a thunderbird goth bass, and just bought an epiphone thunderbird case. The one that has the tapered top half. Well , got it in today and the bass doesn’t fit. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of other cases that would fit it?
Thanks,
JAY

First, go to your local Sam Ash & browse their preowned cases, next:

Hmmm... I have the same case for an Epi T-Bird (2014 Custom Shop FWIW) and it's perfect fit. Maybe the Goth is different (longer?) dimensionally? Yours a Gibson rather than an Epi? Might be the difference.

Yeah, it is definitely not a length problem, more a dimension issue. It is just slightly off. If I fit it in on one side, the other side won’t fit into place, no matter which side I try. Can’t find anything that says it wouldn’t fit the goth or that there is a specific case for the goth either. Just trying to figure out if I got a bad case or if others have had this experience with the goth.

The form fitting part of the interior under the liner is Styrofoam. You might be able to (carefully) pull the liner loose enough to expose it, shave it down to fit, then reglue the liner (spray adhesive). Yeah you shouldn't have to but worse case scenario...

I modded my T-Bird with a strap extension hook to make it balance properly (another entirely different subject) and had to modify the case to make it fit so I know it can be done. Wasn't hard just a PITA.
