Ti Flats and the disappearing E string mystery.

The bass 2016 Gibson ES Les Paul.

I did see the thread where another guy was having this issue and filed his nut and it went away.

But on this bass its different. When I switched over to a set of D'Darrio Chromes the low E rang out like it should. Swap back to the Ti and its not as loud and just sounds lifeless.

I got TI on my Hofner and they sound perfect. No dead E string issues.

Is it in fact just a bum string or could it be something else? Wish I could just but another E string vs sending that much on a full set. I've used TI for years and never had this issue but this bass is new to me and has a reputation for low E problems so I'm kind of second guessing things.

My A string on my P Bass went dead at one point. (D'Addario chromes) I found out that the saddle had dropped a bit. Raised the saddle and reset the witness point by pushing the string down with a screwdriver just below the saddle. Perfect after that. Flats are harder to set witness points on.
