TI Jazz Flats users, are your lighter strings brighter than the heavier strings?

I've had this problem, and just played around it. I have them on a six string bass, which doesn't leave me a lot of choices.

Right -- how old are the strings? Like other flats, TIs tend to be bright-sounding when fresh and mellow with age and use. This brightness is more noticeable on higher strings than lower strings. On a four-string bass the difference isn't very noticeable, but it makes sense to me that the difference between the lowest and highest strings on a sixer would make the apparent difference in brightness especially pronounced. Over time, however, that difference should diminish.

35", de-fretted Ibanez Sound Gear, with the active treble control at minimum.

Hi, I have 3 basses with TI's, one of them is a fiver with high C.

I would say only for the first few months.

And much less noticeable than with other string sets.

Maybe try to lower the pickup height on the treble side?
