Titles in Bold

When I post a new thread, it never shows up with a bold title.
Some others are bold with a check mark to the left.
Why is that?

When you read a thread, the title goes non bold, until there's a new post.

If this one is bold, then maybe someones messin' with me
If you look at any of my other threads, none are bold.
If you go to "basses for sale" some titles are bold (with a check mark to the left), and some are not.
Earlier today, more than half on the 1st page were bold.
Now I just looked and only one is bold
I just want to stand out . . . BOLDLY
Is that to much to ask?
Is it a racial thing 'cause I'm white? Or green

As others have said, bold threads are those you haven't read at all or existing threads with new posts.
When you start a thread it will not show up as bold initially since you have created/read the only post in it. If you then log off and someone posts in that thread, it will show up in bold next time you log in. Once you read the new posts, the thread will not be displayed in bold again.
