TL-5 Question

I recently located a TL-5 that is in decent condition for under $300. The electronics (Super Ferrites pickups too) work fine, and the bass plays great, and feels comfy. The question is, does it use the same trussrod wrench as the Foundation and Fury?

The first generation has the active/passive toggle switch.

I owned one identical to this one in '92. Very cool bass. It didn't sound as good as my Jazz Bass did though, and the preamp hissed. I owned a '87 or '88 Dyna-Bass as well. I really liked both of them.

EDIT: I just noticed the knobs have been changed on this bass.

I put a down payment on it today. I'm not going to sell my Foundation and I am already paying off an Eden rig, so this one will take a minute. I just happened to go into a local pawnshop for the first time and they had the TL-5, a BB605 for $249 and a killer Aguilar combo for $700, so I was quite impressed!

This is the first time I have ever run into a pawnshop treasure. I just wish I didn't have so many obligations at the moment so I could have picked up on the spot today, but I'm not complaining because I have got it locked down!

EDIT: I just noticed the knobs have been changed on this bass.

When I bought this bass a few months ago, somewhere along the line it had a Bartolini preamp installed and these knobs were on it. I got the original preamp with it and the volume and p/u knobs, but not the original eq knobs. I just decided to leave all five the same. The bass sounds much better to me stock and I have zero preamp hiss. This thing is a slap machine too!!

Somewhere around 98 I sold my original TL-5 to help fund my move from K.C. to the west coast and regretted it ever since. I vowed one day I would own one again and it only took 13 years for it to happen.

Anyhow, we're gonna need some photos from the good Dr. as soon as he gets his!!

I'm not sure about truss rod access on the TL-5 but if it is like my Sarzo model, the standard Peavey wrench will not fit. I'm going to have to get a "pocket" truss rod wrench from Stewmac to do the job.
