I have the opportunity to buy an older Euphonics Audio iamp 600... never played EA, as their stuff is pretty hard to come by up here in Canada. At $550, and after reading solid reviews about EA on here, I'm pretty intrigued - stopping by to play it (and maybe buy) tomorrow.
Does anyone on here still play with one of these? I'm concerned with getting an older head, as my 12 year old Eden Traveler is acting up, which is why I'm shopping around. On the other hand, I have read that the older EAs used different components (e.g. heavier transformers), and some argue the older heads outshine their newer stuff. I also read something about a high failure rate?!?
Any advice, good or bad experiences, or stories would be really helpful. Thanks!
