Tobias Classic with flats?

In recent times, I found way to flats after 40 years of playing bass.
On my Precisions, La Bella FL are great, regarding feel and sound. On a Thunderbird I'm testing Fender 9050 which are amazing so far.
Now I wonder, if flats on my Tobias Classic also will do. I fear to lose a set of expensive strings just to test and having the risk to throw them away unused.

Thats why I would like to ask the community, if somebody already have or had flats on a Tobias and how they match with that bass.

My opinion is you lose a lot of range of tones on a bass like a Tobias when using flats. I find you lose that flexibility. Precision with flats is pure gold. Could see the same with a Thunderbird.

+1. I'd use wide-range flatwounds on it, such as Roto 77, EB Cobalt Flats, or Thomastik Jazz.
