Tone/Sound Differences, MB(2) 500 & 1001RB

I've just swapped my trusty Trace Elliot AH250SMX for a GK 1001RB-II, with a youngster up in Maine who figured the Trace was what he wanted for his fusion/prog band. I went for it, and we both ended up very happy with what we got.

Heh, it does make me wonder what I didn't hear in the Trace! Lol! But the GK is great, pumps is almost a good word to describe how it treats the Kappalite 3015-loaded TL-606 cabs. I was going to trade down to a 700RB-II after the fact, but so far I think I'll just keep it, and have the outrageous amount of destructive potential on-hand.

What a great amp the GK is. I'm not overwhelmed with it, not sensationally affected with its character. Just settled, very glad to be playing through it. That's what I want in an amp- to be putting my focus where it belongs: On the playing... :bassist:

I'll get a photo at some point over the weekend here. Thanks everyone for all the advice/verbiage/wisdom on it all.
