Hi, has anyone tried the new ToneX bass amp sims? How do they compare to other sims?

Same. I bought a midi controller from IK Multimedia only to discover that this product, which is still being sold new in stores (Sweetwater, AMS, MF, etc), no longer has the software available from IK Multimedia. I had to download it from a sketchy link on Reddit to get the controller to work. For this reason I will no longer buy their products.

their GUIs are terrible and their installation process takes forever, especially if you're installing multiple apps at the same time. each is installed one at a time and you have to interact with and authorize each installation. you can't just set up a queue, start the process and come back and have it all done. I have all their apps from a group buy and have uninstalled all of them (that process is even worse!) except Amplitube and ToneX.

this post got me curious so i went ahead and did the trial. I found a handful of 1x15 tone models that i liked and did a quick comparison recording with my favorite and thought it sounded good in my band's mix. i probably wouldn't spend $100 on the standalone software, but i'd take the bass version of the pedals if i were looking to buy my first or on a backup to my current.
i think for my situation, most of my tone comes from the strings and pickups i chose, maybe add in a 15" speaker. from there, a good ear and some eq adjustments and feel i'd be fine with anything in the ball park

I'm going to pile on and say their customer service is so bad I wouldn't buy anything from them. If it has drivers or firmware updates, etc. just don't. If it's standalone and never requires a software editor or such, then maybe. I bought a synth used and barely could get the editor for it, and they were never able to give me access to the sound store so I could buy more sounds for it. Why so difficult? What would anyone do with an editor/librarian for a synth if they didn't have one? They gave me a link to a Dropbox, so if I ever had to get it again, I couldn't. Glad I downloaded both the Mac and the Win version even though I didn't need both at the time. Can I expect any updates? No. They fixed some major problems with the synth in a 1.1 firmware update, some people have it, but they claim there was never such a thing. It's just bizarre. Contrast that with a company like Arturia which isn't cheap, but good lord, they work their butts off providing value. Same with Line 6. Adding free features constantly, addressing every bug.

I am guessing its same, just a different cosmetics to make it look different.

As someone "stupid" enough to buy the IK Multimedia Super Duper Mega Awesome Everything EVERYTHING Bundle, I feel absolutely gutted that these bass captures (that should have been included in the first bloody place!) are being sold as a separate pack. It's a massive kick in the teeth to us who've actually spent the money and gone through the ridiculously tedious process of installing their bloatware.
I moved my TonexOne to the "guitar" side of my split'n'grit rig, and this 100 dollar FU won't be changing that.

It's not coming off my board but if I'm honest I have zero of their profiles loaded. All tonenet. I won't be buying another ik product for the road or studio

I just bought the Tonex guitar pedal and have used other IK products for years without issues. I don't get what they are struggling with. The pedal comes with Tonex MAX and has a lot of bass stuff. So much so that the board I am building will be pretty much both my bass and guitar live rig.

My understanding there is a V1 and V2 captures in ToneX ecosystem. IIRC, the new Bass Collection released late last year *should* be V2 captures.
