Double Bass took off and put on my G, then it started too zing

last night i took off a pickup mount on my G string Obligato and when i put it back it had much less depth and power in the tone, and it sounded kind of new, with much zing and a weird rustle. I attached a sound clip of it just recorded.
Give me your thoughts of what i can do to get it rid of it! I really don't like this, it's too much treble and stanley clarkish!

Sometimes it takes some time for strings to settle back in and regain their depth. Another day should do it.

Maybe you've knocked the bridge while taking it off. Try moving it up, down, back and forth.

Disagree. It's not a good idea to move the bridge around searching for what sounds good. If the bridge did get shifted (not likely as a result of removing/replacing the G), then move it back to where it belongs.

Obligatos don't like being taken on and off the bass. The wrapping sometimes gets loose, causing a less focused sound, and sometimes certain buzzes and rattles as well. I use a trick (I don't know if Pirastro would support this). I tighten the wrap when reinstalling a string by winding the end ferrule at the tailpiece one full turn or so. Works for me anyway!

this has been my experience as well. It just seems to be what they do.
