Double Bass Toronto area c extension?

Hi there,

Apart from Heinls, are there any luthiers that can performed the following work in the Toronto area? I don't mind driving three hours in either direction.

-Create Gated C extension
-New bridge with wooden adjusters
-reshape fingerboard / potentially get new ebony fingerboard if not possible.
-thin out sides of neck (take a few mm off either side)
-new nut

Montreal is about a 6 hour drive and not sure of Lamario's availability, or I guess I could drive to Michigan (Guarnari) but I would probably need to leave it there for a while and come back.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have no personal experience with him, but Mike Griffin in Rochester is a luthier I have heard good things about.

Mike does nice work. Met him and played the bass he made and ones he worked on at the ISB. Very nice guy.

I can recommend Reidstra's.

I have had a bridge, sound post, and finger board camber reduced by them and the work, turn around and service was great.

I second Mike Griffin. He is assistant principal in the Rochester Phil. You can’t beat a luthier who is a player because he is coming from the players perspective !!
