Touch up the body on a rare bass

I’m the original owner of this beauty, and have played it at many gigs over the years. It has some belt buckle rash on the back, and I recently scratched it up by the neck. I would love to have the scratches touched up, but don’t know where to start. I live in the Dallas Tx area. Can anyone help me?

If you plan on reselling it ever, do not refinish it. That being said, if you are planning on keeping it and playing it yourself and passing it on to another PLAYER at some point then there is not reason to not fix something that bothers you.

NEVER!!! I'm always happy to see classic instruments in the hands of loving players instead of in the massive collection of some rich rockstar who will never let it see the stage.

Another vote for leaving the finish alone. Maybe stick some protective plastic film like some flamenco guitars have, to prevent further buckle damage?

PS: the bass looks gorgeous by the way
