Trace Elliot...

My girl dragged me out to the band Live in concert over the weekend. We were off to the side of the stage and I could not get a glimpse of the bassists rig (Patrick Dahlheimer) but to my ears it sounded like a big ol' 8x10 cab or a couple for that matter.
When I finally got a look at his rig all he had up there was a 4x10 cab. I know that the PA had a lot to do with the overall tone and maybe he was also running a amp sim DI into the house board. But do these 4x10's sound that good? I was reading about his gear on some site and they said he uses two Trace Elliot 1048H and two 1x15 cabs when playing live. I only saw the one 4x10 but there could have been more in the wings.

:eyebrow:

No. Our seats were not the greatest. I would bet he was DI'd via a Sansamp or the like and the 4x10 was up there for him mostly. Who knows? It really was a killer tone.
BTW: He had just about every Lakland bass the guy makes. The best sounding of the whole lot with this setup was the one with Jazz Bass pups.
