Trading a ‘69 P bass

Hey all

I’ve started to tinker with the idea of trading my all original 69 P. I really love it but it’s just not different enough from my other basses to justify keeping it around. It has a B neck and I’d love to get something with a C neck.

Is it crazy to think that I could get a refin players pre CBS P for the same value that I could sell my 69 P? Pickups / electronics would need to be original but the rest I don’t care about that much.

This thing doesdoe do it for him. It's silly to keep something because OTHER PEOPLE think it's cool and exciting to own one.

Depends on condition and scarcity of both basses - certainly pre-CBS models are at a premium price, even though a '69 is worth some coin. Put yours up for a fair value, and when you sell it, start looking.

Someone usually takes a beating in a trade. I'd keep it and save up for another. Different flavors are good.

Thanks for the advice! I just put my '69P up for sale in the classifieds. It’s by far the nicest bass I own but just not what I’m looking for and I can’t afford to keep around for fun.
