Double Bass Transcription Request? PC It could happen to you

ok to start this off lets get this out of the way:

yes I know transcribing it yourself is the best way

yes i know its a great thing to do

yes I'm doing other transcriptions at the moment

yes it would be great for the student to do it as well

yes we can listen to it for the feel but its nice to see things written out too

now that we've said all that, does anyone have the whole "It could happen to you" bass line from the Relaxin record written out that they could/would send me or know a spot to get it online. I'm gonna do it this summer if not, I would just like to see the whole thing to look at with a student and see how it progresses with a 2 beat. Thanks!

Hi Sam,
I'm transcribing the bass line to "It Could Happen to You". The Miles Davis version has a different chord progression to it. Are you okay with that?
I've found the Red Garland piano solo transcription and Miles Davis trumpet solo transcription. Interestingly, in the Miles Davis trumpet solo transcription, chords obviously don't match.

this is the bass line under the theme

appreciate it! I started doing it last night and almost got thorough the head so ill check mine against yours for edits. Seems ill just have to do the whole thing the old fashioned way...

might be cool though. I did the first 3 songs and to the middle of coltranes solo on oleo. Maybe I should just finish the rest of the record.

I am using Transcribe! software for the transcribing of the bass line. You can hear the bass line much better, if you set the pitch exactly an octave higher. The bass comes through much clearer
Can you share a link to the Transcribe! software you use? I've found a few different software packages but not sure they're the same. I've used Audacity to slow the tempo down but the feature of setting the pitch an octave higher sounds interesting

I'd like to share with you the transcription of first 4 choruses of bass lines played by Paul Chambers over "It Could Happen to You". IMO it would be a good idea to split the transcribing into parts, work on one tune simultaneously to have faster results and then share it with each other. Who's in? :) :) :)
