I like my bass to be very tight and "trebly". I am considering a 200 watt Traynor tube head with either 2 4/10s or a single eight ten cabinent. Or Ampeg head with again, either two four ten cabs or single eight ten. Anything thoughts? Playing an American P-bass right now. Considering a Hofner 500/1 as well. Thanks..Guy

Tube head does not equal Tight and Trebly.
I would avoid tubes.
Tube Pre is fine. Look at some of the newer class D amps, very tight, and can get very trebly. Or the GK 1001 RB II.

The Traynor YBA-200 has a ton of high end, not so sure if you'd call the tone tight, though. I had one and sold it because I like a more old-school bass sound. Definitely more trebly than any Ampeg I've demoed.
LOL...tight and trebly, but considering a Hofner 500/1? The Hofner is one of the darkest and least trebly basses made
