Curtis Novak 70's style pup, vintage wiring, new pots, new cap, chrome covers and d'addario chromes...although right now I'm playing rounds.

Thanks. I think they'd work well with black or white basses. Maybe greys & reds too. There's chrome underneath. You can't really see it.

No I used epoxy to set the veneer on the chrome plate. I sanded the plate first for traction.

here's the Jazz, an SQ MIJ. I think it's probably a late 84 or early 85.

And here's the Precision, another SQ MIJ. Pretty sure it's an 83-84.

Plenty of mods to both, already and in the near future.

And, yes, I do play these a lot.

& this--I believe--is Carpathian Elm if I remember correctly. If not, maybe a walnut burl.

These were taken in the dark with my phone. The woods are richer in person, and after coats of shellac & Tru Oil polish, the depth will show better & the curly/flame will really shine.

What I'll do is epoxy the veneer to a pickguard itself so you're getting a robust, real pickguard, only prettier. Then fine-tune with filing & sand paper, & coat/sand/polish/repeat until it's done. Hit me up. Or i'll send you a pm in a minute.

Here's my 2000 MII P Bass Special that I picked up recently from Guitar Center. I've played guitar off and on for almost 15 years and I'm alright at it but last month I felt the urge to turn to the dark side so I snatched this baby up and I haven't put it down since. Bass feels much more natural to me then guitar. There's a couple dings in the finish and the neck, one of the tuner keys is bent a bit, but I don't care. It all adds character and soul to it. The finish is a dark metallic and in certain lights, it almost looks like a dark dark green.

Last night I finished a full shielding, new pups, and controls though I haven't had a chance to really hear it yet. I did plug it in and besides the normal single coil hum on the J pup, it is DEAD quiet.

I started out with the factory PJ setup with volume, volume, tone. Now it's volume, volume, 3 way switch. Pups are QP's and I had to dremel the body a bit to fit the bridge one in. Also put on some straplocks. Last thing is new strings and a full setup which I'll probably do this weekend along with some OCD details like trying to hide the shielding you can see next to the pups.
