Well, I've been looking to get into learning the six string for a while, and now is the time! I have huge hands, so a big concern of mine was string spacing. I was originally considering the TRB 1006, but I've heard that the spacing is only 17mm. (I want at least the full 19mm.) Sooooooo...for the last week or so I've been trying to find a good deal on either the older TRB 6's or the Patitucci sig - the search is over! This baby is on the way to me from Bass Specialties -

It's the original TRBJP model, which is good for me because the current model has 26 frets instead of 24 (I need that room between the fretboard and pickup.) I'll post a review when it arrives. The biggest issue for me is gonna be if I can play a six string or not - but I'll never know unless I try!

Beautiful. Yeah, that spacing is WIDE, but Jason has big hands and knows what to expect. Beautiful!

Yep, the spacing is exactly the reason why I wanted this bass. It's the reason that I haven't been able to deal with sixers in the past - I need that space to my fit my plucking fingers between the strings. I have a heavier touch...also when I slap I go through the strings instead of bouncing off, so the spacing is crucial for me.

I'm afraid there's not a whole lot I could teach you. I'm really not much of a player, that is, unless you need some extra help in whole notes on the 1...

lol...I KNOW you can play! By the way, one of the things that pushed me over the edge into getting a six was seeing Anthony Jackson a few weeks back...I'm still smiling from that concert!

Congratulations, Jason, I'm sure you will enjoy. Can't wait to see it. In between you and KJung I'm feeling awfully left out with all this new gear. I'm probably going to have to buy a couple of Sadowskys just to keep up with you guys. Every-time I show up for a hang I just have my two plain ole Sadowskys! I feel left out of the new gear every week hangs!:D

Awwww, poor Burkie babeeeeeee:)

I haven't gotten a decent new bass in 8 months and all of my amps are 10 years old and weigh like powered bricks.

Oh, BTW, nice bass, Jason! Can't wait to see it.
