Triplets? You lucky dog!!!
...oh...you mean, like, three notes?
I've been thinking about this and I don't really think it's advisable to learn to count triplets by counting them as "tri-pa-let" and so on. The reason I say this is that if you have to analyse where certain events occur it will probably be much easier to do when you are referring to the "a of three" or the "and of two" than the "pa of the 4th beat".
