True Tube Tone

I hear so much about tube amps and tube drive. I am pretty much new to the world of tube amps.

I would like to have someone please post a youtube clip or a specific song that would in your mind perfectly convey the tube sound, both drive and that magical tube goodness that people speak so fondly of.

I would be very grateful for the links

Link Removed - guaranteed about as dirty as tube tone gets!

I'm sure this has been posted here before but just incase you havent seen it...this is tone at it's best. And John never truly got recognized for the absolute master player he was...a true innovator and inspiration to many, including me. Enjoy!

That... wuz... BEAUTIFUL!!!

Awesome tones. I wish tube amps had more power and were a bit cheaper, I'd love to get one. Oh yeah and I wish they didn't weigh 100 pounds. :)
I don't know about a need for more power--some of these heads get crazy loud with the right amount of speaker area. Also, Mesa's tube heads and the Orange AD200B weigh in at a more-manageable 50 or so pounds.:)

I'm sure a tube amp into an 8x10 would be great. I know cabs make a difference, and more SPL's equal more volume. It's just that right now I have a 280 watt amp into an 8ohm 4x10 box and its easy to get buried under ear bleeding guitar and drums, so I'm a little skeptical about staying in the 2-300 watt range if I was to make a purchase.

I think your problem is with your band mates not your gear. I submit for your consideration the following clip of a certain bass legend performing at Royal Albert Hall w/ of low watt tube amp.

Just saying.

I agree. Some of the recording we've done guitars are turned down and the bass amp is put closer to the mic. But you know how all out jamming can be sometimes...I wouldn't go out and spend $$$ when I could just tell come bozo "hey can you turn that down please?"
