Trying a Nordstrand

So at this point I'm really interested in perhaps purchasing a Nordstrand bass. So my question is if there are any stores that ever have one in stock in the New York area. I just can't see buying one if i haven't tryed it yet.

I was also wondering about the differences between the 4 different models that Nordstrand offers. The SC model seemed like a prefered model, but that's just because i really like the look of single-cut basses.

Almost all Nordstrands are custom ordered by shops for specific customers. I'd be shocked if you'd be able to find a Nordstrand "shop" bass around just as a demo. But, the Groove Shoppe is in New York, and they're Nordstrand dealers, so who knows, they may have one.

There is bound to be somebody within driving distance of you that owns a Nordstrand. You might call Nordstrand next week, and ask Stewart if they keep that kind of info on buyers.
