Tubes for my SVT?!

Their current price on Sovtek 6550WE are pretty decent. OTOH, the Winged C KT88s are way out there.

My 2PRO died on me, I suspected a bad power tube. Today I got a call from the tech and he said one tube is dead and two are really weak. He recommended I at least changed those tree tubes, but I think i'm just going to replace all the tubes with Winged "C" (SED).

i'm just glad my svt runs 6146b's. available for $20-25 a pop nos.

It's getting so, if you shop around, you can get decent 6550 sets for around that price, too. 6 for $146 Sovtek comes to mind.

I just put a new sextet of JJ 6550s in my '71 SVT and it sounds glorious. Very clean and able to growl like no other. I recommend them.
