Tivo'd the ACM's last night and am just now getting to watch them. I've been a fan of Jason Aldean for a while and his bassist Tully Kennedy is a solid player. Really dig what he adds to the songs and was reminded of that with his live performance.

Here's the performance from last night:

Here's a shot of Tully with one of his Sadowsky's:

Yep! I watched that too, also went to see them a couple weeks ago. Those guys are tight, they freaking rock!! My band went to see the show and then we had a gig the night after, we were stoked, talk about inspiration LOL!

Yea man. His lines just seem so fluid to me. They never take away from the song but still add something "musical" to it.

Yep. I remember the first time I heard "Hicktown" I was like ok, now who is THAT guy!?? And I listen to a good bit of Nashpop country. He and Tim Marks (Taylor Swift) are some pretty serious cats with impeccable chops and tone. :bassist:
When I saw them live for that first tour, his live tone is still among the top 3 I've ever heard.

Also, are those EMG's on that Sadowsky?? Awesome if so! :bassist:

I was the same way, man! And I didn't notice before, but I'm not seeing pole pieces.

Thx so much guys.. You are all to kind... I'm just a player like the rest of you all.. !!! I'm glad you guys dig what I do.. Peace... Tully Kennedy

Keep Rockin' Tully!

I played in a modern-country cover act about 4 years back and it was an awesome gig, and the band always asked me why I kept asking to do JA covers and I was like ummm because they're actually fun to play on bass?? :smug:

Yea man. I wouldn't mind playing in a modern country cover band at all and Aldean songs would be at the top of the list. I'm mainly into different styles of rock music. Really dig Pearl Jam and AIC and there are several current bands like Shinedown, Seether, & Chevelle, that I really dig. But I grew up on country and appreciate good country music.

He's a pretty great player. He plays on the albums too. We do a few Aldean songs in my band, and I have to sing them as well as play bass. Not an easy task to keep both in the right lane.

Ditto, lots of fun to play. tough to play and singing but who doesnt like a challenge?

His stuff is a lot of fun to learn and play. Cant wait for a new album to come out. See what kind of crazy lines come next!
