i want to switch the stock black pegs to gold, or better yet, mix parts from a gold set with the black stick set.

I tried buying what I thought were identical ones in EBay, but the shafts are a different height and the core axle stem that you thread the tuning key handle on us thinner on the originals.

So, how can I get my hands in a set of gold plated ones that match the stock set?

All I was able to do was swap out the washers, but I'd love to swap the Y-keys too.

Even the USA Millenniums and Cirri came equipped with asian Gotoh copies. You didn't get Hipshots until you stepped up to the Millennium Plus, and even those were unbranded. The actual Gotoh shafts and ferrules are not interchangeable with their Asian copies as the threading is opposite, male from female. And for the record, as the general consensus on TB might suggest that Hipshots are superior to Gotohs, I prefer the feel of the Gotohs over the Hipshots. Smoother, to me.
