Tuning peg screw hole issues.

A couple of days ago in the early morning I nocked my crappy Epiphone acoustic off its stand. On its way down one of the tuning heads nocked against my desk.
On closer inspection it turns out that the tuner was nocked with such force the whole tuner moved over a mm or so. this didn't really cause any issues as the hole for the tuners shaft is rather oversized. Anyway the tuner pivoted on the lower screw and the top screw bent over slightly. The screws hole was widened and the tuner is now loose.
Basically I somehow need to plug the hole and re-drill it.
Problem is im a woodworking noob and im not 100% how to plug the hole. The hole is not straight doweling it wouldn't really solve it. Wood filler would fill the hole but Im not sure if it would be strong Enough.

Please Please help a noob lol.
