twisted neck question

i have a bass with a slight twist. the setup is otherwise good, and my guy even put a compound radius in the frets to try to help. i still get some buzzing around the middle of the neck on the high string ( not in the upper or lower frets though.) my question is, if i raise the action on this one string will that help with the buzzing? i suspect it will but wanted to check first.

do a trial and error. if it's around the 7th 10fret you may need a little bit of relief, but raising the action might do it too. When your working with a twisted neck all the measurements are a bit off and you usually just have to go by feel. I'm surprised you're just getting buzz there and all over, but a good tech can fix anything!

The set up has nothing to do with the neck twist. The set up is good if the feel meets the expectations of the player. The set up process merely works around the problem.

If there is buzzing at one fret that usually indicates that the next fret toward the bridge (or the one after that) is not level with the rest of the frets. Raising the saddle, and thereby the string height, may remedy (not fix) the problem.

If you like the set up as it is now it would be a good idea to diagnose the exact problem and take care of it. Short, precision straight edges are the tool you use to determine which fret(s) are high.

Would a set of Flats help you get rid of buzz and a little lower action? I would go with a light gauge flat, to relieve stress off neck, Just a thought.
thanks for the idea... im already using ddario half rounds, which are essentially light gauge flats. they certainly feel like flats and not rounds and they are settled in, so not much high end zing on these
