I had an opportunity to buy a Korean Spector NS2 for a really good price, so I did. Great player, definitely has the Spector vibe, but not the sound, with the generic Spector pick ups & electronics.
One day MF made me an offer I couldn't refuse, for a set of PJ EMG's, the pickups in the USA Spector. I pulled the trigger, then upgraded the electronics, a few months later, to the EMG/BTS system.
Now it's got the Spector vibe,look...and the Spector USA tone. And all together I spent less than $600, case included.
My advise, find a Spector that looks/feels good to you. You can upgrade the electronics when you have the $$$ and the desire. Where the bass is made is of secondary importance unless you plan on flippin' it soon.
Korean NS-2A's and the modern Korean Spectors are no comparison. The 2A's aren't as fancy, but they're built a whole lot better and sound better, while not the signature Spector sound. If you can find a NS-2A, grab it!
As far as the Euros, used ones can be had fairly cheap and with the prices going nowhere but up, that would be the first place to look.
